Wildcats Finish Season With Strong Shutout

The Wildcats completed their 2008 season with a strong 4-0 shutout over the Fenton-Theodore team. The highlight of the game was a hat-trick by Travis Ralls, who uncharacteristically started the game playing the field rather than keeper.

Tough Game – Great Victory

Your Westminster Wildcats worked very hard for an impressive 3-2 victory over Green Park. The first half started off very even with each team jockeying for position and opportunities to get a shot off. Travis Ralls was busy in the first half stopping 7 of 8 shots while the offense put up 2 goals by half time. The Cats scoring started early at the 5 minute mark with a pretty goal by Ben Huffman assisted by Kyle Cline. Eleven minutes later Green Park started their scoring with a week goal that snuck through the defense and by a helpless keeper to tie the game up. Then 8 minutes later, the Cats regained the lead with fantastic goal by Andrew Colgrove with a perfect assist by Derek Bell. That score help through half-time.

The Roar Is Back

Well, the roar was back as the Wildcats chewed up Theodore’s Fenton team. After a couple of tough losses last week to some older teams, the Cats stuck it to the Fenton team by nailing their 7th victory by a 6-2 margin.

Wildcat’s Whittle Whitfield

The 7th Grade A team won decisively at home against Whitfield 10 – 0. Whitfield started strong with 2 point blank shots that were blocked by Goalie Travis Ralls. After this quick push, strong defensive play led by Derek Bell, Theodore Muschany, Reed Montgomery and Mathew Kimberling gave the Big Cat’s offensive time to take over. Kyle Cline score at the 15th, 19th and 22nd minute of play for the first “hat-trick” of the year. Matt Sheehan and Ben Huffman rounded out the 1st half scoring. 2nd half scoring continued with Tristan Becker starting the rally followed with goals from Andrew Colgrove, Tyler Catlett and 2 from Grayson Everhardt. All goals came from unselfish play starting from the defensive end and ending with assists from Shane Benes, Grayson Everhardt, Tyler Catlett, Andrew Colgrove, Tristan Becker, Ben Huffman and Kyle Cline…true teamwork from all! Wildcat’s next scheduled game is on the road against Green Park - 10/14 with a 5:00pm start at Clydesdale Park.

Cat’s de-clawed in loss

The 7th Grade A team took home the second loss of the season to the hands of Christ Community Lutheran School 4 -2 at Simpson County Park. Playing against a much taller and physical opponent, the Cat’s played hard in a tightly played game giving up only 8 shots to Goalies Tyler Catlett and Tristan Becker. The score was kept in check with many defensives stops from Derek Bell, Theodore Muschany and Matthew Kimberling. The Cat’s didn’t get on the board until the second half. Tyler Catlett took control of a loose ball at mid-field raced to the right side just outside of the box and blasted this unassisted goal. The second goal came after great ball control and crossing pass from Andrew Colgrove hitting Grayson Everhardt for a diving header that flew past the keeper into the back of the net. Wildcat’s 6 – 2 record will be on the line Saturday, 10/4 with a 1:00pm home game against Fenton – Theodore’s Team.
